Organda Wants Police to Strictly Control Traffic Violators

Head of Jakarta Land Transportation Organization (Organda)'s Regional Representatives Council (DPD), Shafruhan Sinungan expects the police to strictly crack down on unruly public transports in the field.  Mostly, the violations are by picking up and dropping off passengers haphazardly.

There must be a strict action against traffic violators, especially public transport

“There must be a strict action against traffic violators, especially public transport,” he said, Wednesday (9/30).

According to him, nearly all public transport is in violation of traffic rules. They are kopaja, metromini, and mikrolet minibuses.

Ahok Respond Organda's Decision Casually

“On first day of the raid, all can be orderly. But they will do the same violation two or three days later. That’s why, there must be strict action,” he asserted.

Separately, Chief of City Police, Insp. Gen. Tito Karnavian pledged to take harsh action against his subordinates who protect the violator.

“I’ll send my teams, ranging from city police, resort police and sector police for inventorying the areas that are prone to traffic violators,” he exclaimed.
